In 1989, while studying art at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I enrolled in a weaving class. As soon as I walked into the studio full of looms, I felt like I belonged there.
Since then, weaving has become both my passion and profession. I worked as a textile professional in NYC for ten years. After taking a break to raise our three daughters, I was hired by the established home textile designer, Elizabeth Eakins, to weave her custom designs at her CT studio. I'm so grateful for that experience because it catapulted me back into weaving which is endlessly creative and fulfilling to me. Today, you can find me in my studio/ shop in Crafted at the Port of LA, San Pedro, where I produce my own designs.
Along the way, I discovered the amazing benefits of yoga. Yoga has always brought me ease and strength, peace of mind and a deeper sense of connection within myself. In 2010 I attended a Kundalini Yoga and Art retreat at Kripalu, in western MA and it sparked in me a desire for a deeper level of study. I have since become a certified instructor with 500hr in Kundalini Yoga, Hatha certified 200RYT with Yoga Alliance, and certified to teach children through Y.O.G.A for Youth. I participate in ongoing studies of yoga philosophy and meditation with Chase Bossart of The Yoga Well Institute. I currently teach Yoga to children at an Elementary school and have taught is a number of yoga studios in Los Angeles.
